"Tie One On" Apron

A few weeks ago, I saw a picture of a fun apron on a website - wasn't for sale, or a pattern - just a great picture of an apron that looked fantastic. Now, my staff has learned that when I say, "I've got this idea....", that they may have to tactfully talk me out of it! So...I showed a few of them the picture and said that I was just sure that we could figure out a pattern for it. We started playing around, and came up with an apron pattern for our "Quick and Easy Gift Ideas Week". First we tried it out of some clearance fabric, and then Linda said she thought it would be cute made out of our failed attempt to make a 60 degree runner out of this great striped "coffee" fabric! She was so right!! Doesn't it look fantastic? Not sure you can see it too well in the picture, but it has this great looooong tie that wraps around and then ends up in a really fun bow in the front. One of my sales reps called it a "bistro" apron - sounds good to me. And easy? You can put it together in a couple of hours. (You know what that means...another Christmas gift for a cook in your life!) This month the pattern is a free handout, so stop in and ask for one. We are also making some "mug rugs" out of a coordinating panel....pictures tomorrow!
