An apple for the teacher....
I played hooky this morning and made fun fabric fruit in Suz's class! I made a green apple for my favorite teacher - my daughter, Lydia! She's a Reading Specialist turned Kindergarten teacher extraordinaire due to budget constraints in the North Shore School District. I plan on making a few more for her desk at school. I made a plum and pear too, just didn't finish them! But the instructor FORCED me to put the stem and leaves on my apple so it would be done! ;-) And, Suz brought a very cool table arrangement you should see before it's gone to be the centerpiece on her table at her guild's Christmas party next month. The picture here is of next Friday's Make It and Take it. These little pouches would be great gifts for anybody this season. I thought I'd like to put my silk thread in the little pockets and carry some scissors, needles and an applique project. The Make It and Take It Fridays are just $15 for the session and you get the pattern and a finished project to show for it! Why not join us next week?
We also got some fabric today....another one of those fantastically soft contemporary "oilcloth" prints. Hey - that would make a great one of those pouches! Hmmmmm......
Tomorrow is the last KT Klub of this year and also "Applique the Tracey Way". Should be a fun day all around! I know there are loads of great craft bazaars tomorrow (Covenant Church, Faith Lutheran to name two). So, if you're out on the town, why not pop in to tell us all about them and pet some fabric while you're here?
See you soon and hope you have a fantastic weekend!
